Engineering Backup and Disaster Recovery for Azure Landing Zones

Abstract

This practitioner report presents an implementation-oriented framework for protecting workloads hosted in an Azure landing zone. It covers workload discovery, dependency mapping, backup architecture, connectivity and DNS validation, separate recovery storage, replication, recovery testing, runbooks, and failback planning. The framework is designed to support measurable recovery objectives and operational readiness for hybrid-cloud environments. It is intended as a practical reference for Azure, backup, and disaster-recovery administrators.
